Can the LR23-50 substep?

Is the LR23-50 capable of sub stepping in angles less than the full step? If so, what increments?

Thank You.

  • Hi, thank you for your question on sub stepping!

All LEGS motors are capable of, what we call, microstepping.
In the case of LR23-50 a typical full-step is 550µrad. If a driver with the resolution 8192 is used, the theoretical microstep resolution is 0,000550/8192= 0,067µrad.
This is not an exact number, in the datasheet we have choosen to write 0,1µrad.

In practice, the best possible resolution for a system-build depends on several parameters like encoder resolution and noise-levels.
